- What it is
- Verdict is a policy gateway that sits where an AI agent executes tools. Every proposed action is checked against our rules before it runs, and the answer is allow, block, or send back with the fix required.
- Why it is not what we already run
- Identity says who is acting. Content filters screen what the model writes. Observability reports what already happened. None of them read the amount inside the call and decide whether it may execute. That is the gap Verdict closes.
- What we get out of it
- A signed, versioned record of every decision, pinned to the policy that made it, exportable as one file an examiner can read end to end. Rules move out of prompts into versioned bundles, so changing a threshold stops being a release.
- What it costs us to find out
- One integration point at the place the agent already executes tools, then shadow mode on live traffic, which decides and records but changes nothing. Risk sees real decisions on real volume before a customer is affected.
